About Newport:

The Town of Newport is located 13 miles north of Herkimer and 95 milesnorthwest of Albany, bounded to the north by the Towns of Russia, to the eastby Fairfield and Norway, to the South by Herkimer and Schuyler, and to the westby Oneida County.  The Township was settled in 1791 by Christopher Hawkinsof Rhode Island on land purchased in July, 1786 by Daniel Campbell of New YorkCity and William, Ephraim and Benjamin Bowen in 1788 and 1789.  It w asformed on April 7, 1806 from parts of Herkimer, Fairfield, Norwayand Schuyler.  At the first Town meeting, held on March 3, 1807,Christopher Hawkins was elected Supervisor. The Town of Newport is requesting (3) bids for Oct 1, 2019 through Sep 30, 2020:  One (1) for No. 2 Diesel Fuel, two (2) for No. 2 Quality Heating Fuel Oil, and three (3) 24 hour service of the heating system at the Town Offices located at 2788 Newport Rd., Newport, NY 13416.  For complete bid package, please contact:  townclerk@ntcnet.com or PH 315-845-8340

 

BIDS are to be turned in or mailed to the Town Clerk, PO Box 519, Newport, NY 13416.

 

Sealed bids will be accepted up until 4:00 PM on September 9, 2019.  Bids will be opened and read on Monday, September 9, 2019, 7:45PM, at the Newport Town Office, 2788 Newport Rd., Newport, NY.   All bids must be sealed and clearly marked "Fuel Oil/Diesel”

    

The Town reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to award a contract for each bid to the same or separate contractors.
